Alright
Eflexnaija
Q1. Tell us something about yourself sir.
Paul B Beats
Ok, I am Paul Bitrus
But popularly know as Paul B Beatz (coming from the name I use in production). I am jukun by tribe
Hail from Wukari, as my father is A wapan from Wukari but my mum is mummuye from Zing local government
I am naturally friendly and too playful with people. I was born here in Jalingo but went to Takum around 2000. There I attend my nursery, primary and secondary school before I came back.
I grew up and found myself in Choral choir, that is I don’t know who took me there.
Eflexnaija
You must actually come from a good Christian family
Paul B Beats
Yes actually
Paul B Beats:
Maybe daz why am so happy with everything about music
Eflexnaija:
Q2. At what age did you started pursuing your career?
Paul B Beats:
In the year 2006, I started learning drums from a childhood friend of mine afterwards I proceed to learn the Bass guitar from one of my boss He is from Gombe state. After that I was so interested in playing the keyboard and So I developed courage and I took a major step by applying the knowledge of the bass guitar to learn the keyboard
Paul B Beats
With the help of God I started learning and it was so simple. That is to tell you that no one singlehandedly teach me the keyboard
Eflexnaija:
Wow…u must really be talented
Paul B Beats
Grace of God
Paul B Beats
I was so ambitious to the core that it became my top priority and today the keyboard is my favorite instrument.
Paul B Beats
But before that I knew that talent is not just ordinary, I didn’t joke with that; I move on
Paul B Beats
I became a music director with the help of the knowledge I have in music that was since I was little, I wasn’t up to 16years then.
As I came back to Jalingo, I met a friend turned brother (Miracle Anthony)

Paul B Beats
We were doing the music stuffs together like rehearsing and other stuffs and I later found out that he is into learning of music production
Eflexnaija:
Do u meant miracle is not your brother?
Paul B Beats
Lol, we are strong friends and sometimes I do visit him and we do our friendly stuffs. Some people think we are twins.
Paul B Beats
After sometimes, He asked me whether I will love to learn the music production. Without too much consideration I said ‘yes’ because, I have passion for it. Even as of then he was still learning, but he showed me the little he know and I am still grateful to him, that was 2012/2013
Paul B Beats
And so I met Jehu, one of the baddest producer around here
Paul B Beats
They are ahead of me then because they all started before me. I learnt many things form them. And with the help of my music ears I was learning very fast.
Eflexnaija:
You were building yourself.
Paul B Beats:
Yes, thanks to my music ear, especially the choral choir stuffs
Paul B Beats
I learnt the major stuffs within 1month and everyone then was surprise
Paul B Beats
And so I developed myself that now when someone hears my work will think I stayed in Lagos or I learned this stuff from Lagos, but nope
I was very sensitive. I know the sounds I need and the kind of work I want and I try to achieve that and daz all
Paul B Beats
So I officially started learning this stuff around early 2014

Eflexnaija:
Q3. What was your greatest challenge at the first year?
Paul B Beats
Yes I was faced with different challenges. Back then most of the time I trek from home to the studio, To and fro
Paul B Beats
Sometimes I do go back and sleep their because most of the time you will only have time on the system at night when no one is working with it
Paul B Beats
Not sleep but do some exercise
Paul B Beats
With great number of mosquitoes dealing with me but I still keep my leg on the pedal
Paul B Beats
Sometimes I will be hungry without eating anything and sometimes our Oga He is known as ‘Bossman’, He sometimes buy food for us.
Paul B Beats
The first Producers in this town
That is the father of us all, I respect that man so much, that’s where I was learning the stuff. Then Miracle was working there in his studio
Eflexnaija:
Q4. Was your parent in support of your dream goal?
Paul B Beats
Hmm… My parent don’t even know how I started but later they were ok with it since it is a handwork.
Paul B Beats
Not up to three good months I started getting my own cash from it
Eflexnaija:
Wow, you must have key in a lot of effort so your parent love it.
Paul B Beats
Yes because even if I don’t sleep at home they don’t bother. They trusted me very well
Eflexnaija:
5. Who do you look up to in your career choice?
Paul B Beats
Wow all the good producers. But I started from home so I look up to all the homebase producers, especially my friends Miracle and Jehu
Paul B Beats
And my Oga Deeyasso
Eflexnaija:
Q6. Do you think you can compete with popular producer Deeyasso if you have all the high class devices he has?
Paul B Beats
I don’t think I will answer this, I respect Deeyasso so much
Eflexnaija
Wow..😊 your very loyal and respectful. Ok sir, moving to the next question.
Eflexnaija:
Q7. Who is your role model and Where do you see yourself in the next 5years?
Paul B Beats

In production you can’t have only one role model because there are different genre of music and you know what am talking about
Paul B Beats:
Second part of the question, it going to be when am done with my academic. Yup that is when I will start to prepare for it. After school stuffs. For now I am concentrating in school.
Eflexnaija
Q8. What awards do you currently trend for?
Paul B Beats
Lol, I don’t like that Award stuff Because it is not part of me
Don’t get me wrong
I don’t fancy that
I only concentrate in giving my client quality work
But when time for awards comes they will come without me asking for it
Eflexnaija
You are a rare producer with high sense of humor
Eflexnaija
Lastly on today’s episode
Q9. What advise do you have for upcoming producers?
Paul B Beats
They should be humble and be ambitious. I have a lot on me and quality is my signature ✌🏾
