Rev. (Hon.) Nagombe Joseph Titus, the coordinator NGADA Special Development Area, has through the director of health, Mr Felix Garkera distributed drugs to some clinics, health outpost and dispensaries across the various zones of the development area. This effort is inline with his plan of ensuring that all departments of the development area receive his developmental touch as he is aiming toward transforming the area.
The distribution of the drugs exercise was carried out after the conduct of workshop on health facilities management and records keeping organized by the director. According to the plan, due to financial constraint, eight health centres from different communities will be equipped after which more other communities shall also be equipped subsequently.
In his words, Nagombe stated that they planned to ensure that the locals access medical attention at their doorposts to avoid the dangers associated with taking a sick person to a far place for medical attention. He maintained that the important of making medicines easily accessible by the people of the area can’t be overemphasized given the fact that the people of the area were lacking behind in all affairs obtainable in the urban areas.
Delivering the drugs to the various health personnel heading the various health centres, the Mr Felix admonished that they should ensure that the drugs were kept in good conditions and proper records was maintained. He warned that mismanagement of the drugs (or fund realized) by any of the personnel will attract appropriate disciplinary measure. He also instructed that they were to be reporting every month to the head office. According to him, that would also help them know how stable each of the health staff is stable in his primary place of assignment as such measures was appropriate for keeping them accountable.
